Has Shoaibs international cricket career ended?

Posted in : Cricket Matches, Players

(added few years ago!)
PAKISTAN CRICKET board banned him for five years on April 1, charged for violating the players’ code of conduct by publicly criticising the board.

Shoaib Akhtar had appealed against a five-year ban imposed by Pakistan’s cricket authorities.

Earlier, he was suppose to play in Indian Cricket League for Kolkata Knight Riders but, Indian Premier League (IPL) decided that he won’t be allowed to feature in its tournament till the end of his five-year ban or until his ban is lifted by the Pakistan board.

Earlier, this week Rawalpindi Express accused Pakistan cricket board chairman, Nasim Ashraf in a television interview of demanding a commission on his fee from the Indian Premier League.

This is not the first time when Shoaib breached of discipline. Last year just before the start of the Twenty20 World Cup held in South Africa, hit teammate Mohammad Asif with a bat and was omitted from team. He was already on two years’ probation for this offence.

His international cricket career was always in limelight because of his bans and other issues. He played 46 test matches and 138 one-day international since his debut in international arena in 1997-1998.

This time it seems 32 years old pace man Shoaib Akhtar will be seen only in old recorded matches, never in live action.
